Note from the artist about this piece:
The language of plants is a small ink drawing using art marker leached through the back of the paper and black line details on the front surface. This technique provides a lot of the wash effect and color bleed expected from watercolor, but with the geometric control of marker. There is some debate about whether plants communicate, but also some evidence that chemicals signals and states of plants affect one another through interacting root systems. If it is a language, it is an allusive cooperative sort of biochemical poetry, utterly alien to humans. In the drawing, oddly interacting sinuous shapes touch and break away from one another in a sort of static slow dance. The dark line details are distinct, like information, but at the same time abstract and "alien".
