Note from the artist about this piece:
I used three different techniques to create the splash in the wave on the left and the spray across the tops of the waves. The first technique uses a toothbrush that I load up with wet pastel and then flick on the canvas. The second and third techniques are more mark making in nature. Simple dots and dashes and squiggly lines give the illusion of splashing water. Sometimes I use all these techniques and other times just one or two. The painting usually tells me what is needed.
