About Renee Keil:
Renee Keil is an artist, actress, director and choreographer living in Pittsburgh city proper (summer) and in Stuart, Florida for the winter months. . She received BS and MA degrees from the University of Pittsburgh, and did graduate at the University of Oslo, Norway. Currently, Renee is concentrating on her “visual arts”; painting in watercolor, oils, acrylics and pastels. She is a member of Associared Artists of Pittsburgh, Martin County Arts Council, The Martin Artisans Guild, Garrett County Arts Council, Pittsburgh Society of Artists, The Pittsburgh Watercolor Society (signature member) and Pittsburgh Pastel Artist League. She has won several awards for her work in various juried art shows and museum exhibitions.
For Renee, painting is a process that allows her to create a "theater on the flat”, by incorporating conflict, character, abstraction, and theme. She generally focuses on the issues and concerns of today’s world using a variety of methods and mediums. Renee hopes through her artistic “choices” to evoke an emotional reaction, or if not, at least a thoughtful response from the viewer.
