About Prudence Horne:
Prudence Horne is an abstract painter whose work reflects a deeply personal and expressive response to the landscape. Based in Southern California, she draws inspiration directly from her surroundings, creating multiple versions of the same scene to explore subtle variations in color, shape, space, and rhythm. Rather than replicating nature, Horne expands on it, infusing each painting with her energy, emotion, and observation. Her practice is rooted in both discipline and exploration, informed by an MFA from Pratt Institute and a BA from Trinity College. Her work has been supported by numerous grants and artist residencies, allowing her to travel and deepen her connection to place. Through her paintings, she invites viewers into a nuanced and evolving vision of the natural world.
