About Pingping Cui:
Trained as an architect, Pingping Cui holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture and has worked at several leading New York City firms, designing commercial and institutional spaces for clients such as Celebrity Cruises, Dow Jones, and HSBC. While she has long enjoyed drawing and painting in various media, it was during the pandemic lockdown that she turned her focus to black-and-white pen drawings. Amid global uncertainty, her detailed line work became a quiet form of meditation, restoring order and balance through art. Her drawings revisit places she once explored and memories shared with loved ones, transforming architectural precision into intimate reflection. Pingping’s pen-and-ink works aim to bring peace, serenity, and a sense of timeless connection to the spaces they inhabit.
