About Nash Bellows:
Bellows' collages are centered around story-telling with landscapes and reimagined environments. It is an inspection of the natural and the man-made, our relationship to nature through technology, and the perception of High and Low art in illustrative, historical, and contemporary representations of landscape.
I grew up in an idyllic landscape-a small surf town. I spent my childhood outdoors between the oceans, forests, and mountains of California exploring landscape. Inside, I was playing computer games and watching nature documentaries under giant quilts crafted by my great- grandmother. These elements of landscape, technology, and storytelling are the underlying aesthetic and conceptual themes in my work.
