Melissa Bolger

Oakland, CA

About Melissa Bolger:

Melissa Bolger creates worlds of focused 'mark making' and patterns that strive to process thoughts and emotions from her past. Bolger uses animal portraiture to put the viewer right in the face of nature. The animals are symbols and metaphorical exploration of other worlds beyond the top of the food chain. These works are part of an incessant quest to find beauty in the abstract and natural world. They seek to communicate the more subtle, intimate, and unique acts of nature, hinting at narratives as well as connecting with cosmic and/or temporal ideas.
