Larry Stein

Benson, AZ

About Larry Stein:

Larry has been a photographer most of his life. While in college he worked at a small newspaper in Los Angeles as the "Darkroom Guy". He made prints for the newspaper (and occasionally for himself).

Fast forward a couple decades and he became involved with a digital imaging franchise as the VP of Technology. While there he taught classes in color management, image correction and large format printing. He also became a certified picture framer.

After leaving this business Larry opened a studio in San Diego, specializing in art reproduction, framing, and helping photographers and artists make fine art prints of their work. At that time, he also taught photography classes and led workshops for the San Diego Natural History Museum.

Over the course of his photography life, he's used many formats of cameras: 35mm, medium format, large format 4×5, as well as a homemade pinhole camera. Currently he uses a Canon 5D Mark IV for color and B&W, and for infrared a Canon 5D Mark II converted to full spectrum infrared.

He moved to SW Arizona in 2024 and is enjoying all the great scenery and opportunities of the desert environment.
