About J Scott Cilmi:
Scott Cilmi grew up in an artistic household. His uncle was a commercial artist in New York. His mother an art teacher and his sister, a jeweler. Art making has always been around him and always been a priority. He has a fascination with the process of making art and gravitates toward abstraction. His paintings are meant to be meditative connecting the viewer spiritually and sensually – allowing the viewer to escape and interpret.
Cilmi creates his mixed media paintings using oil, acrylics, enamels and various additives on canvas, paper, panel and board. He creates a sense of energy and spirit through the layering of color and texture, the composition and the mark-making. The results can be gentle and calm or highly charged and energetic.
Scott Cilmi has been a professional artist for over 25 years. He is a graduate of The Tyler School of Art – BFA Temple University in Philadelphia. He has learned his craft with the help of his family, colleagues and friends. His art is in many collections throughout the world.
