Originally from Basalt, CO, Hunter Ash is living and working as an abstract artist in Austin, TX. She earned her BFA at Baylor University where she studied Studio Art and discovered a love for painting.
Hunter uses painting as a tool in exploring what it means to cultivate creativity in every-day life. She interprets the intricacies of the human experience through abstract narrative and a tactile, engaging painting process. She uses oil and acrylic paint on canvas to portray a translation of her lived experience and depict the magnificence of the world around her.
Using various elements such as textured marks, poured hues, blended strokes and meditative compositions, she creates paintings that tell a story all their own. Hunter's work is intimate and dynamic, provoking contemplation and discussion. As she explores what may often be seen as intangible or overlooked, her work exposes the unseen through painting in a way that is palatable, visually intriguing and impossible to ignore.
