Gabe Fernandez

Portland, OR

About Gabe Fernandez:

Gabe Fernandez is a painter with an intense focus on our relation to the environment in which we dwell. These ideas and themes are expressed through his interiors and neighborhood scenes. Explorations in formal elements such as line, form, contrast, composition, and color also lend to his work an affinity for abstract-representational juxtapositions.

Gabe was born in 1971 in Caldwell, Idaho, but grew up in a small rural community in Oregon called Sweet Home. He graduated from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in 1999, majoring in painting. Gabe now lives in Beaverton, Oregon, with his wife and two daughters. Gabe is also a social worker for at-risk boys. Gabe has been painting scenes of chairs across the western U.S. for over ten years.
