About Erica Harney:

Erica Harney holds a B.F.A. in drawing and painting from Alfred University, and an M.F.A. in drawing and painting from The Pennsylvania State University. She has also studied at the Santa Reparata International School of Art in Florence, Italy.

Harney’s work has been exhibited extensively across the United States and internationally. Major solo exhibitions have taken place at The Pennsylvania State University, Penn State Harrisburg, "VARGA Gallery":http://vargagallery.com/, and the "Estate Yard Gallery":Estate Yard Gallery in Castlecomer, County Kilkenny, Ireland. Notable group exhibitions have taken place in several New York City galleries, such as the "Coleman Burke Gallery":http://colemanburke.com/newyork/index.html, "Sara Meltzer Gallery":http://www.sarameltzergallery.com/, "Kathleen Cullen Fine Art Gallery":http://kathleencullenfinearts.com/, "James Cohan Gallery":http://www.jamescohan.com/ and "The Greenpoint Gallery":http://thegreenpointgallery.com/ in Brooklyn. Her sketchbook, “I’m A Scavenger” was recently on a nationwide tour and is now in the permanent collection of the Brooklyn Art Library.

Last summer, she organized a massive solo exhibition, Here Comes the Sun, to benefit the Killian Mansfield Foundation, an organization that works with children battling cancer and other serious illnesses through integrative healthcare. This exhibition opened at The Greenpoint Gallery in Brooklyn on Monday, July 18th 2011.
