About Darby Guerechit:
Darby is a self taught landscape painter based in Bremerton, Washington in the beautiful Puget Sound. Using acrylic and gouache paints, she creates abstracted landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, from the Cascade mountains to the rugged Olympic coast. Some are specific and meaningful places, while others are imagined terrain. Darby’s practice is heavily focused on process and exploration, as she examines relationships between landforms, light and color to create surprising works that draw the viewer in and reveal unexpected details and depth. She is also a proud chromaphile and observer of nature, which informs her artistic process.
Darby has shown her work at the 2026 Cherry Creek Arts Festival and was awarded the 2025 Amy Award for Emerging Artists from Bainbridge Island Arts and Humanities.
