About Daniel P. Olsen:

Daniel P. Olsen is an American multidisciplinary artist and composer based in the Hudson Valley, New York. His work explores the delicate intersection of natural transition and atmospheric stillness, often capturing the ephemeral beauty of the landscape through a lens of "visual music."
Best known for his Ice Works and Glass Berries series, Olsen’s photography is characterized by a minimalist, high-contrast aesthetic that strips away the superfluous to reveal the skeletal elegance of the natural world. His process is deeply informed by his background as a musician; just as his compositions—such as Dark Violet Skies—utilize space and resonance, that can been seen in his visual works.
Olsen’s work has gained international recognition, notably featured in Spectaculum Magazine (2024/2025) his works are also represented and sold nationally on premier platforms. His participation in the 2026 exhibition at the Howland Cultural Center marks a significant milestone in his career, further establishing his voice within the contemporary fine art scene. By documenting the fleeting—from sub-zero ice formations to the quietude of a winter harvest—Olsen invites collectors into a world where time is suspended and the quietest details speak the loudest.
