About Daniel Ashe:
Daniel Ashe is an established photographer specializing in black and white fine art, with an emphasis on US travel, documentary, architectural, and street style disciplines. Daniel's body of work spans nearly two decades and includes various photographic works in permanent collections, gallery exhibitions, and art publications with industry recognitions in the field of B&W photography.
Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Daniel moved as a young adult to Texas and enjoyed careers in both music and in the corporate arena of media and advertising. It was during this time that he was gifted a camera by his mother, who taught film photography and darkroom techniques at a school in the Dallas area. With some basic instruction and several rolls of 125 Ilford B&W film, he set out to photograph the magic autumnal light of New Mexico with his 5-year-old daughter as his subject.
Daniel states, "For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about photography. When I was a kid, I could spend days in a dusty attic going through boxes of old photos and photo books, getting lost in imagery. Now I have an entire library of photo books for inspiration, and I still find myself staring into them with that same wonder and escapism."
Those original New Mexico contact sheets ignited a new creative passion.
Daniel continues, "When I'm out in the world capturing beauty, sometimes for days on end, it's a feeling of being truly alive – interacting with the entire environment, from micro to macro. It is a visceral journey tethered by frames, angles, and creative perspectives. It is a hugely satisfying experience. It is a day of passion."
