Dan Cleary

Dan Cleary is a professional photographer, artist, author, teacher, lecturer, and historian who has run Cleary Creative Photography for many years. He holds a master of fine arts degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Detroit, Michigan. Dan has created large-scale on-site public art and worked with many companies to display his fine art landscape photography in their buildings, including over 200 images in Kettering Health Network buildings throughout the southwest Ohio region. The 10’ x 5’ installation titled “Kettering, Deeds & Delco” was included in the ReImagining public art project for the Wilmington-Stroup Dayton-Montgomery County library. Dan created a series of photographs titled Wright Brothers: Then and Now. In this series, he used historic pictures by and of the Wright Brothers and returned to the same locations, taking his own photographs. He then layered the two images with a written narrative within each picture, giving context and life to the image and the people behind history. He has shown these images around the county at galleries and museums. Dan turned this series of photographs into a book by the same title, and it is in many aviation museums, including The Museum of the United States Airforce and the Wright Brothers National Parks in North Carolina and Ohio.
