About Cristina White-Jones:

Cristina White-Jones is a contemporary mixed media artist working primarily in abstraction. Originally from the Austin, Texas area, she currently lives and works in Buda, Texas. She holds a BFA in Painting from Texas State University.
Her work is characterized by bold color, movement, and richly textured surfaces. Drawing inspiration from nature, tactile materials, and the physical pain she experiences daily, Cristina uses the body as a central point of reference in her practice. A childhood injury that resulted in multiple surgeries and permanent disability has deeply informed her relationship to material, process, and endurance.
Working across a wide range of media, Cristina builds layered, tactile surfaces using paint and repurposed materials such as recycled paper, cardboard, and packaging. Her intuitive, physical approach emphasizes texture, gesture, and accumulation, reflecting an ongoing dialogue between body and material. In addition to her studio practice, she teaches art classes to children and adults from her studio, Studio303.
