About Caroline Coolidge Brown:

Inspired by patterns in nature and her love of travel, Caroline Coolidge Brown creates vibrant mixed media paintings and handprinted works on paper. She is a recent transplant from Charlotte, North Carolina to Wilmington, Delaware, where she works as a studio artist at The Delaware Contemporary Museum of Art. A painter, printmaker, visual journaler, and urban sketcher, Caroline teaches at the Delaware Art Museum and The Delaware Contemporary in Wilmington, the General Theological Seminary in New York, and the John C. Campbell Folk School in North Carolina. She studied art at Duke University, Penland School of Crafts and the Center for Contemporary Printmaking.

"I create prints with a variety of processes (etching, woodblock, monoprint) and use them as collage material and/or layers for mixed media painting. My subject matter finds me when I walk by the creek near my house, in the mountains of North Carolina or underwater diving in the Caribbean – anywhere there are lush shapes and colors."
