About Annie Haines:
California Bay Area artist Annie Haines creates expressive, abstracted landscapes that connect viewers to the energy and vitality of the natural world. Deeply rooted in the practice of painting en plein air, she draws inspiration from direct observation and close attention to place—translating light, form, and emotion into compositions that capture the living spirit of the land. Through an intuitive approach using value, shape, line, and color, Annie’s work reflects the dynamic relationship between human experience and the natural environment.
Her work is deeply influenced by the diverse habitats and historic sites across Northern California. Whether painting along the coast, in foothill preserves, or urban green spaces, she seeks to distill a sense of place and belonging in her art. Annie frequently paints with regional plein air groups including the Los Gatos Art Association and the Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society, and has participated in numerous plein air events including the Dublin Plein Air Festival in Dublin Ireland in 2025.
