About Andy Yale:

Andy Yale began taking photographs during his teens, with a secondhand "Nikon F":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikon_F that he still uses today. The practice quickly became a passion, and Andy has since devoted most of his time to documenting obscure scenes, and capturing images of old-fashioned and vanishing lifestyles.

In doing so, Andy has photographed the Irish "Traveling People":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_Travellers, the "Lakota Sioux":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lakota_people and school children on the "Rosebud Indian Reservation":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosebud_Indian_Reservation in Saint Francis, South Dakota. He has also been able to shoot New York candy stores and diners, old hotels in New Hampshire, Irish musicians, and people living in the "Appalachian":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appalachian_Trail mountains.

His photography has appeared in "Rolling Stone Magazine":http://www.rollingstone.com/, "Guitar Player":http://www.guitarplayer.com/, "The New York Times":http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=new+york+times&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8, "Harpers":http://harpers.org/, "Natural History":http://naturalhistorymag.com/, "Memphis Magazine":http://www.memphismagazine.com/ and many other publications.

Andy currently lives and works in New York City.
