About Amanda Burek:
Amanda Gibbs-Burek was born in Charlevoix, Michigan and now lives with her husband, and two children in nearby Harbor Springs. She started sketching as a small girl and later taught herself to draw and paint. She hopes to go back to school someday and earn a degree in art education, but until then she will continue to paint at the folding desk in her room.
