About Aliza Cohen:
Aliza Cohen grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and received a BA in Art from UC Santa Cruz and an MFA in Painting from Boston University where she studied with English painter John Walker. A relentless observer, she is captivated by contrast, whether visual, philosophical or conceptual. Her work, which includes paintings, drawings, prints, and textiles has been exhibited nationally and internationally. She is the recipient of several awards including a residency at the Jentel Foundation in Wyoming, a Kala Art Institute Printmaking Residency, an Artist Fellowship at the Vermont Studio Center and the Constantin Alajov Award at Boston University. She currently works out of her studio in Richmond CA.
